Distilled Spirits Council Names Christina Araujo Chief Financial Officer

WASHINGTON – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) today announced the appointment of Christina Araujo as Chief Financial Officer.

Araujo most recently served as Vice President of Finance at Washington Capital Partners, where she led all finance and accounting functions for the real estate investment and lending organization. In this role, she managed financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and liquidity, audits, payroll and benefits, and compliance programs.

“With more than 15 years of finance and accounting experience, Christina has a strong track record of aligning financial priorities with organizational goals,” said DISCUS President and CEO Chris Swonger. “She will be a valuable addition to the DISCUS team as we continue to position the association for continued growth.”

In her new role at DISCUS, Araujo will oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, supporting the organization’s mission and strategic plan through effective financial oversight.

“I’m excited to join DISCUS and support its important work on behalf of the spirits sector and member companies,” said Araujo. “I look forward to helping build on its strong foundation and advance its priorities through clear financial insights and disciplined fiscal management.”

Earlier in her career, Araujo served nine years as an accountant at Swisscom Hospitality Services North America Corp., where she managed full-cycle accounting operations and supported budgeting and audit activities for the large, multi-location organization.

Araujo holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
